The Open Castilla y León – Villa de El Espinar 2018 started it’s men’s main single draw with a bit atipical day because it was only played one match from the first round. Turkishman Cem Ilkel defeated ‘wild card’ Jorge Hernando Ruano 6-3 y 6-4.
Ok the opposite side, doubles draw advanced a lot. First seeds Adrián Menéndez and Sergiy Stakhovskiy, beated under sunny segovian mountains Bolivians Arias and Zeballos 3-6, 6-3 y 10/5.
This Monday it ends also the qualifying with Finalizó también la 20 years old player Alberto Romero de Ávila Senise victory 3-6, 6-3 y 6-3 against Albano Olivetti, 2012 and 2013 El Espinar finalist.
On the last qualifying round lost younger from Burgos player Nicolás Álvarez Varona against first seeds on qualifying: 7-6 y 6-1 won FrenchmanJankovits. Álvarez played his first ATP tournament
Who qualified for main draw was Vietnamese Nam Hoang Ly, and becomes first Vietnamese to play the main draw at this tournament: number of different nationalities represented are now 73, with his presence and Macedonian woman Lina Gjorcheska.
Women’s tournament also started it’s mains draw in a day where main seeds did not started it’s campaign at the singles draw. Paula Badosa played the doubles with Paraguayan and Fed Cup player won a difficult match against Cantos and Payola 6-3, 4-6 y 15-13. “Altitude makes everything very fast here, but after adapt myself I have great feelings and I’m looking forward to my singles debut”.
